I try to find a bit of joy in each season, that way I’m always happy.
The Viking landers were no longer operational in 1988.
Tower == rook?
That might not have been the only cause, as the downvote buttons just disappeared on v1.71.6.
I was swiping through posts, came to this one, and opened the link in Firefox.
Copied a quote from the article, switched back to Summit, and started writing a comment. Switched to Firefox to copy a second quote, then switched back to Summit.
Upon returning to Summit, the app seemed to “reset itself” to an extent, kicking me out of the post and comment composition, back into the main feed, which refreshed itself.
This doesn’t seem to be related to if a URL is a Lemmy instance or not.
Could there be some sort of memory leak which gets triggered if someone swipes through too many posts or something? Just spitballing here, I don’t really know anything about app design.
Any other info which would be helpful?
“Since there was no human driver, a ticket couldn’t be issued (our citation books don’t have a box for “robot”),” reads the post.
Wait, what?
Last year, California governor Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill that allows police officers to issue a “notice of noncompliance” if a driverless car breaks traffic laws. The law goes into effect in July 2026. The law also requires companies to set up an emergency phone line for first responders.
Ah, legislation lags behind technology once again…
Fitting, I suppose.
Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?
I see besmtt has already beaten me to it.
Nothing bad ever happens there
What if I post North American quick-bread biscuits there? :)
Funny to see the later Snoopy juxtaposed beside all the early Snoopy strips.
Thanks for sharing! I’d always wondered this as well.
Cool, I guess, but is there even a large market for this? Most people charge overnight while they sleep. Even on the occasional road trip, people typically stop for more than five minutes to eat food.
I suppose megawatt changing will be needed for trucks at some point.
This article is a few years old (2019), and in that time, China’s response to the Wolf Amendment seems to have been “We’ll build our own space station, with blackjack and hookers!”. And thus Tiangong was born.
Now I’m wondering what the typo was. ''Pizza steal"? “Prone to lust”?
Who are the characters in this meme?
I recognize…
Hold up, it’s only 23 m tall? That’s like 1/3 the height of Starship, and 1/27 the mass and volume. Does the Starship architecture even work at that scale?
SpaceX are having enough challenges as it is getting a useful payload fraction out of the 9 m wide Starship, which they have stretched once and plan to stretch again.
Oh right, the Van Pelts will show up at some point…
I think (1) will have a much bigger impact on the human population than (2). We aren’t going to exhaust Earth’s resources in 200 years, and it will take much less time than that to switch over to renewables. The transition is already underway, and shows no signs of stopping.
The instructor really needs to work on his pedagogical skills. I don’t think it’s generally recommended to insult one’s students, calling them a “cowardly weakling”.
Thanks!
