  • Lemmy in a fucking nutshell.

“You’re not LEFTY enough! You must pass my purity tests or you are MAGA!”

Bullshit like this is why we’ll never get anywhere. Any of you assholes notice America is now a fascist country? Anyone know how they got control? By not fucking fighting among themselves, that’s fucking how.

We’re going to have to take in some people who aren’t 100% in agreement with every fucking point. THAT’S a hard pill to swallow.

  • If you asked me if Lay’s were made with real potatoes, I’m not sure how I’d respond. Depends on the actual question? I’m assuming they’re made from bits of potatoes, processed to hell and back and boiled in oil, kinda like Pringles.

We’ve insisted our food look perfect for so long that the industry responded. How many people would chunk out a chip with a little green or black on it? That’s normal. We took tomatoes and bred them to be perfectly pink and round and shiny, lost all the acids and sugars. Now some people think they hate tomatoes because that’s all they’ve ever known.

Anyway, this is marketing pushing potatoes to the forefront to make chips sound healthy and natural. Maybe they will be?

made with no artificial flavors or colors from artificial sources by the end of the 2025

    Sounds good.

Lay’s Baked and Lay’s Kettle Cooked chips are also getting an ingredient update. Lay’s Baked will be made with olive oil and have 50% less fat than regular potato chips and a new version of Lay’s Kettle Cooked Reduced Fat Original Sea Salt will be made with avocado oil and offer 40% less fat than regular potato chips — with more new options across PepsiCo’s food portfolio to come in 2026.

Sounds even better. But lord, how much more expensive? Don’t eat them, don’t care.

Can’t trust the marketing team, but with RFK banning so many things, some good, some bad, who knows? Wish I could cut that fucker in half (maybe quartered?) and just use the positive ideas out his brain. Reminds me of the Nazis being anti-smoking.

My dumbass did this with my wife on our second date. Agreed to meet at an historical nature trail in town. She’s so damned late it’s dark when she pulls up. For background, she’s from Manila, total city girl, but I assumed people like her grew up in the jungle or something.

    <standing 25’ back>

“Are there any bears in there?”

“Well, there could be one, but almost certainly not, we’re in the city. Besides, they run from people.”

<whipping her head side to side>

“It’s OK. I have a gun if I really need to scare something off.”

<vigorously whipping her head side to side>

“OK, let’s find something else to do.”

    Yes, I’m that dumb.

She still won’t go on the local trails at night. Tried to meet me as I was coming out. Had almost got to her and she texted she was leaving because an animal crossed the trail.

The staple foods we’ve chosen to cultivate are all energy dense. Overheard a client talking to another guy he hadn’t seen in years, “Yeah, got diabetes. Can’t eat any white foods. :(”

That really got me thinking. Rice, potatoes, wheat and corn. The core desirability is energy.

Add something like beans to fix nitrogen and add missing nutrients, you’re all set.

You got masked men, one in street clothes, one in gear I can buy on Amazon, attempting a kidnapping in broad fucking daylight. FFS, some masked rando this week just pointed a pepper-ball gun at a woman in the car next to him! For filming him. (Note here: No court of law will expect an average civilian to know the difference between a pepper-ball gun and a “real” gun. In any case, “less lethal” rounds can still be lethal. You saw a GUN.)

IANAL, but I know more than most about gun rights. I’m a liberal gun nut so it behooves me to understand these things best I can. I have watched hours of YouTube on various cases and how they played out.

PRO TIP: Self-defense laws are far more restrictive than most on the left or right understand. The technicalities, state to state, are rough to internalize. Most depend on some notion of “reasonable threat”. What did you see, what did you feel, was happening in the moment?

Remember that kid who shot the YouTube asshole in the mall? Everybody had an opinion when it happened. Here’s a respected GunTuber/lawyer’s brief on how and why he was found not guilty. You can get a taste of the complexity of state laws. EDIT: Watched that again. Yes James is cheesy, kinda his shtick, but he’s a real lawyer who defends real self-defense cases. Please give this a watch if you are armed. This was a close one, could have gone either way.

I am not aware of any state in the Union that prohibits one from shooting an unidentified, no uniform, no police lights, masked man threatening another person with a gun.

If you’re going to carry, you must read the actual law for your state. You must be aware of how cases in your state have played out. And you must be ready to die or end up in a concrete and steel box, for life, if you pull your weapon.

Would you like to know more? Check Massad Ayoub on YouTube. He strikes me as conservative\non-MAGA, but he keeps his mouth fucking shut on politics, just the facts ma’am. He was a cop for 30-years and has 300+ court cases under his belt as an expert witness in self-defense shootings. You could do worse than learn from him.
