  • One con: Finding new music is harder (I imagine).

You actually should actually try to listen to web radio. Still have a subscription with Qobuz but been listening to bytefm a lot and they have some great djs (they have different shows at different time.). I personally found there more new and great artist or songs than any personalized algorithm ever did.

One con: you’re too busy writing down the songs and you cannot really do anything while listening as you also too scared of missing something. /hj

  • Had the same thought a year ago. The options which we have looked so ugly though i somehow ended up with a HTPC with Windows of all things… but i wish there would be a real simple Linux WM similiar to Apples TVos… Don’t like the Plasma Bigscreen either… Maybe its a great project to get into Wayland…

  • Trying things out with an ESP32 and i might opt for Rust after reading what you have wrote. There also seems to be enough resources to do that. I started using C++ as the Arduino IDE has decided that for me more or less. I suspect setting up a local development environment is also easier with Rust. (?!) I at least had problem Setting up C++ in VSCodium.

Don’t like OOP as the next guy but sometimes its the right tool i feel like and i do have that case right now. So its great that Rust seems to have that as well to some extent. Actually as Rust is so much more readable i kinda expected to give up on some control but that doesn’t seem to be the case. :)
