The Japan Mobility Show – which brings together major automakers to show off their upcoming vehicles in Tokyo each year – is still a couple of weeks away. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait until then to see what Yamaha’s got cooking, because it’s totally fire.
The battery and hybrid bikes look interesting
That stupid three-wheeled thing can eat dicks. They’re not bikes. They’re cars that are missing a wheel, but without any of the benefits
And autonomous stuff on a motorbike? What a way to completely miss the point of riding, and there’s no fucking way I’m putting my life in the hands of some AI given how shitty people in cars already are, and they’re getting shittier as tech gets more involved
Concepts are just about fucking around and finding out what might be interesting
I get it, but that abomination with three wheels isn’t a bike.
Trikes and recumbents help our differently abled homies.
I understand that
If I lose mobility, I’m going side-car
But these things aren’t pitched for those who need them, they’re pitched as a bike for people who aren’t into bikes
And yes, I’m gatekeeping
There are bikes modified to suit people who have disabilities, and then there are things like this.
How dare people like things that you don’t like.
They’re not bikes
I don’t give a fuck if someone else likes it, that’s fine. Whether or not someone likes it has nothing to do with what I’m saying
It’s not a bike.
I can’t think of anything worse then a hybird motorcycle, all the complexity and extra weight and shitty design compromises of both worlds. Stupid enough idea in cars.
I have an electric car, and had a partner with a hybrid a few years ago
I found the hybrid really, really good
The most powerful machines are hybrids. I’m talking about ships, trains, huge dump trucks and things like that
I was able to go full electric, but I see hybrids as a great stepping stone
