Mine mostly stays parked at home unless I have to travel far. Good car, AWD manual that’s fun to drive, but it gets stuck in traffic just like any other car.

I can carry at least 70 liters of stuff on my ebike and it’s just a tiny little Portola (I even have space to add another basket if I wanted). An actual cargo bike could probably carry more than some cars.

I always check tire pressure before I ride because I don’t want pinch flats or a sluggish ride.

I almost picked up a Dahon Mariner but ended up getting a Priority Folder on sale instead because of the belt drive and IGH: Less maintenance and no derailleur to catch on anything. I’ve heard Dahons are pretty good folding bikes though.

Using pedal assist would definitely make you a better cyclist vs not riding at all. Even if you never pedaled, you’d probably still be better at handling the bike.

For what it’s worth, an e-bike is actually what got me back into cycling. I still ride e-bikes sometimes but at least half the time I’m riding either a folding bicycle or a full size 3x7.

As for the batter/extra weight, yeah, that’s a significant drawback: I’ve heard of more than a few eMTBers screwing themselves over like that.

I’ve also stuck stuff in my pannier bags, leaving them open so long stuff just sticks straight up. Lash it to the frame and it’s usually good enough to get stuff to the destination.

Eh, I like my Priority Folder pretty well but bike fit can be a trick thing even when everything is adjustable.

I feel like e-unis (which are real and very fast btw) would actually be safer, at least when it comes to cornering.
