I believe that this counts as an Unpopular Opinion. I believe that it is no more political than the Charlie Kirk post that’s up.
I personally don’t hold this Unpopular Opinion, commented to that effect, and had my opinion removed by the Moderators for the following reason:
• misinformation. It’s spelld “fascist”, not “nazi”
So maybe this is the Moderator’s Unpopular Opinion?
I have talked to actual o.g. Nazis including in my own family. They were politically very distinct from what is now Trumpism.
For example Trump is an unabashed capitalist. For national socialists on the contrary the economy and capital needs to primarily serve the nation (race). Regulation and a strong state is seen as necessary and desirable. Social programs like health insurance is something national socialists care deeply about. Italian fascism and corporatism is also distinct from the tech bro ultra libertarian feudalism that Musk and Thiel desire.
Nowadays many people don’t give a shit about actual policy or ideology anymore. Call them a Nazi or fascist is the depth of the discourse, instead of actually thinking and talking about their ideology policies and what they’re doing or intend.
Whereas the majority of people recognize the existential threat that nazis represent.
Conversely, nazis recognize that being called nazis is bad branding, and rely on apoligia like yours.
They really appreciate your efforts.
Survivorship bias dictates their perspective can’t encompass the large subset of Germans for whom the nation did not serve. There were 5 million non-jewish victims of the Holocaust as well as the 6 million jews.
Also there’s very little to substantiate the idea that people were less politically ignorant or more concise and articulate back then. If anything this view of yours further proves that your sources for nazi culture didn’t represent the average mentality.
The difference is Trumpism doesn’t even care about social programs for white people, nor about enacting actual policies that benefit the white working class.
Wrong.
The Nazis believed that the German race had to be strengthened through a process of natural selection. They dissolved the socialist and christian welfare organizations, stole their assets, and created a national welfare program they controlled to specifically deny jews and political opponents welfare.
Trumpism is exactly like that.
Maybe try reading a book… instead of listening to the people who burnt them.
Read your own post again. That’s a huge difference.
Regardless of the degree of difference we’re gonna deal with it the same way. You can ask those og nazis what that means since you won’t listen to anyone else.
Outproduce industrially, fight a horrible gigantic war spanning the globe? The political situation is very different between 1933 Germany and 2025 USA, domestically and internationally.
Yea so 1933 Germany and 2025 USA don’t need to be identical for maga to be nazis.
That’s a strawman. Do you know what logical fallacies are?
History doesn’t repeat but it sure as hell rhymes a lot.
