Logitech did this before, like 15 years ago, I actually have one tucked away. Very similar to the K750 they have been offering for a while. Charged on solar or artificial lighting, using a small coin-cell battery that can be replaced as it ages (few years). The older version had a larger solar panel (?) compared to this one. It was fine to use, average cheap office-style keyboard. But the lack of wires is an interesting idea.
For those that want the novelty and minimalistic appeal, that aren’t picky about their keebs… and not many other qualities vs a standard board.
I was thinking the same thing. We got them in our IT dept like 10ish years ago and used them for conference rooms since they lasted a long time and we had issues with execs ripping people new ones because it wouldn’t work during their precious meetings and somehow was our fault. Anyway, I had that thing up until 2 years ago. It was awesome!
Well, technically, pretty much everything else does too.
Is solar the right word? I suppose you could be using it outdoors, but isn’t it more likely just using electricity generated from the lights in your house, which are powered by wherever your utility company sources their power? It’s solar with extra steps.
