It sounds like the embodiment of cornhole and light beer white rednecks. For that reason alone I hate it and leave when it comes on.
Just listened to the Old Crow Medicine Show version, it is tolerable. It is twangy but has much less of that godawful pop country machismo sound.
It’s not really Bob Dylan. Old Crow Medicine Show wrote most of it off a riff Bob Dylan did, it was more ‘inspired by Bob Dylan’
It’s a good song but have heard it enough for now.
I really like the OCMS version because it feels like an old country/folk song. The Rucker version is trash, and it pains me that it is more popular.
