Pretty sure that happened in the sci-fi comic Schlock Mercenary. Can’t find the exact page though. Basically a bazillion micro satellites formed a ring around Earth and they used it for advertising. But then someone made all of them reflect at the same place all at the same time turning them into an enormous superweapon.
