Squirrels hide nuts because they’re stupid, it’s just basic survival. They can’t even remember where they put them all, what a mess. It’s actually kinda good for the ecosystem that they forget some, or else there’d be no winter food for anyone. Squirrels are just a bunch of nut-stashing idiots anyway.
