Too bad almost all public invidious instances disable the api interface so without self hosting I think it’s unusable
I grew tired of all of them and I’m using mullvad leta. Too bad they don’t support images but it’s the only one without ai. It’s not perfect and it crashes if you use “site:” but so far it’s working for me better than the others.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does mozilla plan to add support for add-ons in Firefox ios, since Apple was forced to allow browsers other than safari?
2·4 months agoI don’t think Gecko is a requirement for the addons. The Orion Browser supports (many but not all) Firefox’s addons and its webkit. So it is feasible although probably hard to obtain a 100% compatibility. I still use Firefox on Ios because I prefer the UI but not all sites works well with it. Also the ios team at Mozilla is very small allegedly based on some public threads on the internet.

Technology@lemmy.zip•You know that generative AI browser assistant extension is probably beaming everything to the cloud, right?English

Don’t forget also the need to keep up with new web standards otherwise they will quickly become irrelevant due to not being able to go on new sites and I don’t think that will be possible without another company/foundation funding and taking over the project

I’m reading Radicalized by Cory Doctorow and this starts to feel too real since it’s the same plot of the book
