All around, in terms of strava I used to just leave it syncing to my account and not think about or use it most of the time. Then as they removed even more features to be behind their paywall I made a point to delete the account in sort of protest.
I am only one person but similar to a lot of things I boycott in this way, hopefully people will follow in time and really affect them! Join us! XD
Wtf is a Borzois.
theskyisfalling@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Running@lemmy.world•Strava Just Sued Garmin: Demands Garmin Stop Selling Devices14·2 days ago“Strava is claiming that “Strava has suffered damages, including lost revenue and business opportunities, erosion of competitive differentiation and network effects, harm to goodwill, and unjust gains to Garmin.””
No, Strava, you did that to yourself with your personal enshittification. I already deleted my accounts and stopped using strava so I can’t really protest this kind of bullshit in that way. Although to be fair garmin is going that way for me as well with their recent moves towards the same enshittification.

Micro USB is utter trash for sure but now with USB C I’m happy. I only had that one time when my own clumsiness ruined that one controller.
Appreciate the recommendation though :)

ACAB. Fuck the police and fuck the useless fucking train companies.
theskyisfalling@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•What controllers are good?English3·5 days agoI haven’t ever tried a series X/S controller but I had a couple of 360 controllers that lasted through many many years of abuse then moved on to the ‘one’ controllers and the only issue I have had with those is an older micro USB version that I dropped with the cable plugged in and it smash the port off the board inside.
That issue was my fault so in general I have had very good experiences with them all.
theskyisfalling@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•What controllers are good?English6·5 days agoXBox One controller is my current favourite:
Well built
Long lasting
Decent prices secondhand
Always worked first time on every OS I’ve tried it on
USB C as long as you get the newer generation version for wired play
Most comfortable size and layout IMO

Haven't read him before; recommendations for them?2·6 days agoI keep acquiring more because I think I want a break from the series I’m deep into but then I start something new and realise I don’t want a break at all xD
I burn through many many hours in a week though so a time will come when I can slot one in, it isn’t like they are super long books, at least the first few of Discworld weren’t.
I think most hobbies have a backlog in some way, shape or form xD

I’m going to go in with an open mind but I have a rather large back log as well as being very into a long series at the moment so I don’t think I will get to them for a while :)
Yeh… I’m on a 6a with Graphene and nothing has changed.

I did try and read in release order, as I generally try to do for books, maybe I will five those two you mentioned a try because on the face of it it is a setting and an idea that I should like. I just couldn’t get into it before.
theskyisfalling@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Books@lemmy.world•I picked up these 4 Pratchett books! Haven't read him before; recommendations for them?3·9 days agoLike you say, everyone is different and I know that is an unpopular opinion. I am also 100% with you on LOTR, I struggled with that for hours trying to force it but finally decided that it was just not for me at all. God damn all those songs and poetry were just mind numbing to me!
theskyisfalling@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Books@lemmy.world•I picked up these 4 Pratchett books! Haven't read him before; recommendations for them?41·9 days agoThis is obviously a really unpopular opinion but I just don’t understand how there is always so much love for his books. I tried reading I think it was the first 9 books from the Discworld and I just found them boring and extremely cringeworthy.
Like I hope you enjoy them and it is great so many people do but I don’t get it all.

Technically there is probably a difference between the two but where I am from they are used pretty much interchangeably. Cordial is seen as the “posh” version I guess.
Thanks for actually writing out details and the recipe rather than just posting the video, it is much appreciated from someone who generally won’t follow video links but is interested in the subject.
Yes. 128 kbps and less sounds soooooo good /s
