How is transmaxxing being used to perpetuate transphobia?

The problem with the “transmaxxing” theory is that it does not contend with the realities of living as a trans woman in a systemically transphobic and misogynistic world. Trans people are subjected to disproportionately higher rates of violence and experience increased levels of housing insecurity in comparison to their peers. Contrary to these statistical realities, Vintologi writes “trans women will benefit from the increasing female privilege.” This supposed privilege has no factual basis as all women are still the subject of discrimination and violence (sexual and otherwise) on the basis of their sex, while being paid an average of 85 cents on the dollar when compared to their cis male counterparts.

    Highlighting this section for people.

  • There’s absolutely way more simply apathetic non-voters who saw two candidates promising more austerity and genocide and said “shits fucked yo” and didn’t bother. You can call those people stupid but you’d be dumber for thinking that will get them to vote for your candidate.

If anything the uncommitted campaign was warning about that.

    1. Are you running as the systemd service?
    2. “Find” as in it doesn’t know where your folders are or “find” as in you told it where the media is but they’re not showing up? If former, configure your libraries in the UI. If latter, check logs, its probably a permissions issue.
    3. Can you log in to the webui from the host machine itself? If so but not other devices on the LAN, then there’s a probably a setting somewhere that’s set to 127.0.0.1 that should be 0.0.0.0.

  • Like half the population of this site exists because Reddit locked down their API. It’s an empirical fact that they engage in bot detection and prevention. Anyone who consistently uses a VPN will have personal experience with it. Anyone who’s tried to interact with a social media’s API can tell you that. Try to write a bot that scrapes Facebook events or LinkedIn profiles before you speak in such absolutes.

You are correct that they don’t aim to completely eliminate them. They might even explicitly allow some of them. But If they didn’t engage in any bot management you’d see nothing but spam for “hot 21yos in your area” on every site. Depending on the platform they might offer paid API access to facilitate those influence networks (eg X.com blue checks). Even if they did that they’d engage in bot prevention for bots that aren’t paying.
