This is sad to see how far deep Duolingo has gone into the shittificatio hole. I really enjoyed doing the lessons with my whole family, but I guess we’ll be searching out a new way to get our second-language skill up to date. The AI thing wasn’t the absolute last nail for me, but this is.

The benefit of the previous system was that if you understood what was happening, you could practice for a long time, but if you kept failing, it would basically lock you out so you can put it down, recoup and come back later. This is now punishing people who are consistent and are understanding the language dynamics. Sad to see.

I have also had this dream.

That’s assuming they don’t look at a sub and just say “you’re now paid, congrats” and the mods just go along with it. I can see greedy mods seeing the ability to profit from that kind of forceful hand and then complaining about disengagement.

I keep telling my kids that the more you do it, the better it gets. I had to start journaling just to get my handwriting into shape. I don’t like to journal, but need to be able to take legible notes during meetings. So, one fed into the other. Your cursive/script/magic runes look better than most other block print I’m seeing in local High Schools, so keep it up.

Resistant does not mean it can’t get moldy. Just less likely if treated well.

All wooden boards need to be cleaned and well dried before storage to prevent mildew and warping. I wash both sides of my thicker boards even if I just used one so that it doesn’t warp while drying. Also I dry them standing on edge so it dries evenly. Just a longevity thing if you spent good money for a good board. If it’s a $5 board from Walmart, do whatever, just be clean.

I love the Hongdian pocket pen for my EDC. I’m curious about that retractable outside the case though. Do you recommend?

My grandfather and his neighbor would sit on the front porch for a couple hours every few days. Neither would say much more than a handful of words, just vibe. Now all of the new-build homes don’t have porches and it makes me sad.
