The Sandwich Maker!
I found it very funny, especially Wesleys portrayal of Kirk. The plot was a bit so and so though.
I’ve enjoyed the season well enough so far but this to me was a bit off script-wise.
Nothing wrong with the concept – a forgotten spaceship from Earth* but there was no explanation or speculation on how they survived and why their spaceship had that (atrocious) cyberpunk pirates of the caribbean aesthetic.
So many questions that even the characters themselves should have asked but didn’t. The takeaway seemed to be about human nature, the darkness within us etc. but it wasn’t really explored rather than haphazardly touched upon like it was an afterthought. And maybe it was, maybe the idea that the “dangerous aliens” were human was a late edit.
*Although a bit hard to integrate to the canon but whatever.

I don’t get this part but it’s a matter of taste I guess.
Ah crap, it just reminds me of Windows Vista.
Also, having buttons and controls on transparent backgrounds makes things harder to read / discern.
The the lock screen however is a nice Apple-esque touch.
It’s going to take a while for me to get over the fact they decided to squeeze all the rest of the planned story arc into just one final season and leave it at that.
It’s just so rare to get a show this well done.
I recognise you’re just expressing frustration towards current affairs – a frustration I often share, but:
Decisions require a mandate and the reason the EU has problems making decisions about some things is that it wasn’t designed to address them in the first place.
It’s simply a slightly over-grown trading union with occasional federalist aspirations.
Responding to tariffs - fast and coordinated.
Responding to external military threats - scattered and complicated.
As a sidenote: According to John Bolton Trump, at least during his first term, was completely oblivious to how the European Union worked and was somehow also under the impression that Juncker, then president of the European Commission, got to decide the NATO budget. Crazy, right?
That’s why the EU’s response to defense was based on financial instruments.
To become a “superpower” and/or make quick decisions regarding e.g. military threats, it would need to actually become a state-like entity and begin building several bureaucratic arms it currently lacks which doesn’t usually happen overnight. Not to mention establishing actual policies.
Before we get to that stage though, a consensus between member states needs to be formed and all manner of legal documents drafted. Centralising power means less independence for member states which is usually a hard sell. It would likely also require member states to alter their constitutions which could be an incredibly slow process even without resistance from all the respective governments. Not to mention the fact that a popular vote in all member states might be a good idea democracy-wise.
I’m not saying necessarily it’s something we shouldn’t pursue and hey, under extraordinary circumstances even bureaucracy can move quickly but it is a huge deal and moving quickly could also mean skirting around established democratic principles. (Actually iirc European bureaucracy is generally quite efficient as is –contrary to popular belief)
I guess I wrote this in the hopes of fighting disillusionment even though it’s not the core message here. We’ll do what we have to and I’m positive we’ll get to wherever we need to be in order to survive and thrive in this century. It will require patience, nerve and active participation from all of us though.
Last thing I want us to become is like the folks over in the States claiming it’s all already over. (A minority, I hope)
Sorry for the wall of text, I guess I had some stuff pent up.
Not a fan of subscription models either but I would also love to be get useful software updates somehow.
So many fetures are not released for older models because they need to sell the newer ones.
Ohhh yes. Mouth, eyes, lungs – they get everywhere.
Sometimes when I get home my face is dappled with them as they stick to my sweaty skin :)
Before the flies however, if you live in a northern city, there’s the dusty air in the couple of weeks after the snow has melted and they haven’t washed the roads yet. Add pollen to that and your lungs soon start to feel like your a regular smoker.
Thanks for making the post! I’m sure many will find it helpful.
Myself I’m inclined to trust old school (f)oss projects much more than these new “privacy focused” solutions that seem to have the half life of a fart.
I’ll probably stick with a firefox fork for now, there’s plenty of them and it allows me to keep all of my addons and configs.
Well done! I did some exploratory surgery on my Fenix 6 recently as the vibration motor had stopped working properly. Easy to take a part and probably easy to repair - just have to find a spare part somewhere.
Jonathan Swift had the same showerthought.
Overall, he preferred horses.
Well done! Mine’s been waiting a couple of years for installation.
I need more
Was your purpose to spread disillusionment?
Because that probably was the consequence.
