climate COPs have been a failure for many years as the big polluters pretend to care. In recent years this is becoming more obvious, so the pretenders will just drop out. Having a climate COP be organized by petrostates is just poisonous irony. Brazil is also destroying chunks of the Amazon forest “for” this COP by developing a highway through the forest. For those who don’t know, roads through forests are the beginning of the end for forests, the wounds that fester and infect until the forest is killed.

In general, richer people have better access to the bureaucracy. I’m not sure how the US system works, but maybe they also get more money because they had more expensive houses. Is that fair? That’s a great question to ask over and over.
