It sounded like just a straight metal album to me.
I had to listen to it a few times before I realized that it had a lot of tonal/genre variety just like most FNM-Patton albums.

They are disappointed in us when we don’t want to be ruled by their rulers.
They are truly stupid and harmful human beings and they should be loudly ostracized in every community in which they dare to advocate for fascism.

I’m thinking of an app for musicians to upload their music too. Bandcamp was good, but it’s been taken over by corporate power now.

Support artists on bandcamp soon.English1·5 months agoBandcamp does some pretty cool things even though it’s now owned by a Business-2-Business music licensing company. Makes me wonder how many Bandcamp artists have had their songs ‘licensed’ by Songtrder (the ‘biggest music licensing platform in the world’) to other companies without the artists’ consent.

https://www.4dayweek.com/research
https://www.apa.org/monitor/2025/01/rise-of-4-day-workweek
Given that the research shows a four-day workweek gets better results for everyone (including employers), it’s worth asking why we don’t have one–who is preventing it?
The most important outcome of this, of course, is that it makes for better worker conditions.

A handful of countries have four-day workweeks.
If we’re not going to get rid of the system in the United States where we all have to work for the majority of our lives just to survive, then the four-day workweek is a good starting compromise.
We could easily do so if not for the billionaires.
There is no system of government in the world that has been able to stand up to individuals with billions and billions of dollars.
The billions and billions of dollars have all the power and no system can escape that power.
We need to stop the billionaires.

clonedhuman@lemmy.worldto Cybersecurity - Memes@lemmy.world•We need more opensource hardwareEnglish22·6 months agoThat was a great feeling–taking something locked in, programmed, something that used intentionally deceptive description and design, and finding a way to make it your own. To, basically, break the deceptive design and make the device better by “breaking” it.
When I rooted my first Android phone I felt that way. It’s a shame how much of the computing power in phones is used for nothing but harvesting our data and profiting from our use of the computer.
There’s so much more we need to break now.

clonedhuman@lemmy.worldOPto General Discussion@lemmy.world•“The ultimate hidden truth of the world is that it is something that we make, and could just as easily make differently" -- David Graeber (The Utopia of Rules, 2015)English5·6 months agoI don’t think things like greed are endemic to our species, and particularly not like the greed that is so all-consuming that you take necessary things for life from less powerful people.
I do think, however, that without a massive change in mindset, that this capitalist viewpoint, the viewpoint that says I can take whatever I want from whomever I want, will persist. We might not be hardwired for greed, but we are hardwired for hierarchy.
And, if that hierarchy is one that valorizes this poisonous type of greed, that the lower primates will mimic it to rise in the hierarchy.
But, we have so many other available hierarchies. The capitalist one is dominant now, but we can change that.
