Yeah, that must be the reason why the United States pay half a billion dollars of tax payer money each year to the utility companys to compensate their failure in finding a suitable storage location.
Which is still not operational, just like the dozens of other potential storages, we started building just to find out last minute that they are not suitable. Or even better, those we started using just to find out they were not suitable to begin with later. I’m curious to read how many billions it will cost to retreive the waste from Onkalo in 30 years when we’ve learnt that it’s also not safe for the next million years.
If it’s such a non issue, how come we still don’t have a single long term storage facility for spent nuclear fuel in the world? After more than 70 years of nuclear energy production.
Your dad has put you into your mom’s womb with passion and sweat, your mom fed you for 9 months, pressed you out of her womb with pain and tears just to continue feeding you afterwards.
And yet here you are blaming some invisible josser in the sky for your existence. Did you not pay any attention in biology class in 5th grade?
Ok, then let’s call it 20pm.
Forking shirt, I swear whenever I want to. And if I don’t want to, I don’t.
Neither will some count at Google or some motherforker at Facebook stop me from swearing, nor will some clockplucker on Lemmy force me to 🦆ing swear.
Fuck yeah!
That’s absolutely not true. Just read the 🦆ing law. The fines can be found in BKatV, Anlage (zu §1 Absatz 1).
Nr. 100 says “Vorgeschriebenen Sicherheitsgurt während der Fahrt nicht angelegt; 30€” which clearly states that YOU get fined for not wearing a seatbelt.
Nowhere does it say anything about transporting someone else who isn’t wearing a seatbelt, except for children who are explicitly mentioned in Nr. 98 and 99: “Ein Kind mitgenommen ohne für die vorschriftsmäßige Sicherung zu sorgen”.
Even if the clear language of Nr. 100 would have left any doubts, the fact that the numbers talking about children explicitly mentions transporting someone else shows that that’s not the case for grownups.
Same in Germany. I guess, we both don’t live in civilised countries then 😢
Ok, maybe I just play the wrong games. I haven’t payed any of those.
What kind of games are y’all playing? In the games I usually play the sexual orientation of the characters isn’t mentioned at all. So for all I know they could be straight, gay, bi, pan or whatever.
The last game I remember playing where the protagonists wife was mentioned (implying he’s not gay) was Max Payne, 25 years ago.
The engineer in Factorio doesn’t care for men or women, all he cares for is that the factory must grow. And afaik it’s never mentioned wether Jebediah Kerman is into Bob, Bill or Valentina. None of the thousands of enemy soldiers I have shot in various shooters ever told me whom they’re in love with. And all the Sims I might have killed by burning down the city were just numbers for all I know.
Not to brag, but the longest Road in Europe is 8641km (5369 miles) long. Though to be fair, it’s only partially in Europe, the last 4000 (±1000 as there’s no clear border between Europe and Asia) kilometers are in Asia. The longest road that is completely in Europe is only 5190 km (3225 miles) long.
77 million people voted for trump in 2024. Even if you subtract the 50% that can’t write, that leaves more than 38 million people who could seriously say this on Lemmy. Don’t pretend that the orange clown ruined the country all by himself.
That’s not really impressive. I can drive 5 hours and still be in the same state. In Germany.

Also, usually the thieves would not write “stolen from person X in Y” on their gold bars.
And let’s not forget that a non-negligible part of the pirates were in fact former slaves that either fled on their own or have been freed directly by other pirates. So they basically fought their previous “owners”.

And don’t expect me to steal the fish back, that you’ve already eaten. Of cause I’ll take whatever I can get hold of.
It weren’t primarily neighbour countries, it were especially European and Chinese vessels that were doing that shit.

A huge share of the goods the Caribbean pirates “stole” didn’t belong to their “victims” anyway. In fact, most of it had previously been stolen from the native Americans who had been conquered and killed or extorted from slaves on the plantations. Stealing from a robber isn’t stealing imho.
Another, more modern example are the pirates of Somalia, who originally were fishermen. Only when foreign ships came into their waters to steal their fish and dispose toxic waste, they began to arm themselves to “steal” their own goods back.

Yeah, that’s why you have to wind up your watch every now and then. To spin up its internal black hole again.
We have a word for the latter tough: Nachtischmagen (literally dessert stomach). It doesn’t matter how full you are, you always have room for dessert.
