Okay, but can I promote Harry Kim?
I have to disagree. Honestly, I have no issue with any multiplayer game taking basic anti-cheat measures, a few people causing chaos on the weekend can ruin a game for a bunch of kids.
But, there’s a difference between common sense anti cheat, and kernel level observation and manipulation.
“Fingerprints.”
camera cuts to Dot and Prince
“No thanks.”
Ah, so the Model S.
Despite the obvious political divide in the US, part of it might be that you can’t tune it or mod it yourself.
Think of them as gaming PCs in terms of customization and performance options. I know people who rebuilt their cars over and over, and even tweak the most minor injection timing to get the most out of it.
Outside of a Plaid or anything in that ballpark, a custom built ICE Mustang will probably smoke something like a EV6 GT in a quarter mile by a second or two. If you could realistically rebuild and mod your EV6 it might be a different story, but instead you get drift mode on that specific model because an executive deemed it so. In this sense the EV6 is a Chromebook. The Mustang runs Linux. The car guys are nerds.
I’m in your camp, I fucking love not having a transmission and being “speedy” in all of my practical daily driving. I’ll never rebuild a Mustang, but if there were an open sourced EV I could mod I’d be there in a heartbeat - and I bet some car guys might come over too.
You guys have work printers?
Just playing, I have a Brother color laser printer. Had it for about 7 years, replaced the toner only once, prints fantastically. I mostly use it as a scanner and printing coloring pages for the kid.
I recently started playing Disney Speedstorm as a fun casual kart game without Nintendo.
The gameplay is fantastic. The music bangs. The netcode is… alright. The game is fun!
But holy crap am I glad I don’t care about cosmetics and characters. This game is printing money on the backs of parent’s credit cards. Assuming everything was unlockable, you’re probably looking at 4-5 figures.
I’d gladly pay $80 for a game of this quality, but this kind of predatory nonsense should be illegal. And until it is, I can understand why companies are drawn to making games like this - it’s an unpatched infinite money glitch.
Someone who needs to justify their big truck who both complains about taxes and gas prices. 🇺🇸
Yes, if they’re quality games.
I’m going to wait for reviews though on the games themselves, but pick up the console at release, and probably Mario Kart and Metroid.
I know the console is going to last me half a decade at least, and I have a kiddo who’s going to age into those first party games very quickly. Mario, DK, Kirby, Zelda.
For the switch 1, I have about 15-20 Switch exclusive games, which I’ve spent hundreds of hours on. To me, most of those gaming experiences are worth a $80/90 price point in today’s dollars given inflation, and by buying physical I can quickly sell the ones I don’t like (looking at you hyrule warriors).
It seems like heavy price tag at first glance, but in reality I think it’s quite reasonable over the lifetime of the console.
Honestly, I’ll still get a Switch 2 for the first party games, but there’s no way in hell I’ll buy a third party game for it if I can add the game to my Steam library. Steam Deck + living room “console” PC is pretty perfect if you know what you’re doing.
Honestly, just let the YouTube algorithm run for a few hours on a fresh account. You’ll start getting right wing and “Christian” viewpoints spoon fed to you fairly quickly.
Replace oxygen with dilithium and introduce a primitive species that safeguards it at conflict with the rolls die cardassians. Throw in some beastie boys for good measure.
Honest question, but on a technical level isn’t discord basically IRC with some bells, whistles, emojis, and a some WebRTC Logic wrapped in electron with a large marketing budget? Throw in some cloud storage and a CDN for images. What am I missing? I’m not saying it’s “easy”, but I’m curious what it would take to build a solid streamlined FOSS alternative built on combining existing technologies.
Edit: I’m not familiar with the ecosystem… is the issue with existing FOSS bad UI and complicated onboarding? Missing features? Or is it simply a critical mass issue?
I love Frakes. He’s just so passionate about what he’s working on and honestly it’s so rare to see people in his role geek out so much - not only does he “get it”, but he loves it - and as a fan I’m here for it.
As someone who lived in Chicago and sold his car - it’s probably just as fast or faster to take public transit. Outside of medical reasons, nearly no one needs to take a car anywhere in Manhattan unless you’re leaving the city. It’s highly unlikely those with less means are taking a car in the first place.
I feel in reaction Indiana will rename Michigan City, Michigan will reclaim the Toledo strip, and Ohio will Ohio.
Doodle is a bit more artistic, while jiffie is a bit more poetic. I haven’t found any practical differences in deployment.
And here I am still very happy with my $350 steam deck purchase and 2tb ssd upgrade. 🤷♂️
