My brother in Christ, what do you think social media does to our children? Does social media not represent them doing something insane on the Internet for financial gain and notoriety? Are these not the two most cherished qualities in our society? Of course it’s the company’s fault and of course they’re breaking the law. Removing step up basis on assets, taxes inheritance over a limit, increasing capital gains taxes, taxing corporate buy backs, are all great wealth taxes. VAT is a horrible wealth tax, that’s not the level of wealth we want to target. We don’t want to target consumption, we want the money back in circulation. I don’t think anyone here appreciates your explanation or your intelligence as much as you do.
Wealth taxes are extremely hard to implement, but legislating thousands of tax loopholes is extremely easy. Removing them is hard, adding them is easy. Why is that?
France also did a wonderful political experiment a few hundred years ago. It was a real work of equality. I’m sure there are other solutions we could consider….

Did you not send your kids to a public school with government lunches? The government subsidize like 1/3 of your children’s meals for most of their lives.
It sounds like they got rid of the food inspectors. It’s like almost every public service except for the police.
We should probably require the government to regulate the economy enough so ann average worker cannot afford to feed their kids. Unfortunately, the government can only regulate the economy in a way that puts money directly back into Donald Trump‘s pockets.
