  • Don’t mix up overeating with the human’s natural down phase during the mid day though. It’s normal for humans to feel tired after lunch, because humans took breaks during the day (kind of like Siesta in Spain).

Industrialization introduced the work from 9 to 5. In reality humans had a biphasic sleep schedule before that. We still experience some after-effects genetically from this in our circadian rythm. There’s actually several words in languages across Europe for this, i. e. in German “Mittagstief” (midday low).

Humans never worked as much for other people as they did this day and age, of course not counting the early days of industralization.

Kompletter Schrott.

  • What’s the issue with snaps? I’m still on Ubuntu ans abkut to switch to Debian, but for me its pretty chill atm because I don’t have to worry about updates or security. I know about the terminal aliases, which could be disclosed better, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. I thought it’s pretty cool to have a “store” that’s curated so I don’t have to worry about security, since I use Linux casually.

  • The effects are definitely felt in Germany as well. It started (or can so far be traceable in the news) with Tesla. Not sure about any other sentiment, but I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised. This is the first time there’s news about things other than Tesla.

But yeah, I personally started going more for European products and that is also the policies pushed by some European countries atm. It might be a coincidence, but I switched away from MAMMA where I could (with Win10 support running out, I went over to Linux, I. e.; or I switched my default browser away from chrome and search engine away from google).

  • I’m having a hard time understanding the criticism on them working with companies, or developing tech towards it, though. I thought it would be a good thing if a Linux company introduced systems for general use, same with Edubuntu. Having Ubuntu on school PCs is definitely better than Windows for example.

    Edit: The rest makes sense!

  • Yes, this is what one study said. While biologically-speaking even a single drop of alcohol is bad for your body, the return effect from it is socialization, fun (only in moderation). If there were no positive effects it wouldn’t be used. In moderation it would be interesting to see the effects positive emotions have on the wellbeing.

However, that being said it is still the worst drug and it is easily abused. I work as a bartender at a hotspot in my city. The degeneration of the mind many people go through is utterly disgusting. I don’t mind because they’re not me though. But I do mind cleaning up after them in the toilets, or when they proceed to be shitty to those around them… or worse.

It goes the same as for any legal drug: Only use it when you consciously want to. Know when to stop. Drink a glass of water inbetween. And for the love of god don’t make it an excuse to be an ass. If you lose yourself in it you’re losing more than you get. Stopping to use any drug is a good thing.

  • This goes for life as well. Education? RTFM, studying is a skill and it can be done well as well as ineffectively. There’s many methods nowadays on how to study efficiently, as opposed to cramming knowledge into your short term memory through brute forced memorization (not that all knowledge from school is necessary to be kept).
