No and I get that(even said as much) it’s just that it was fine a few decades ago when people were learning how to be better but at this point it’s not good enough anymore, ya know?

Awwww poor baby. As much as I understand what you’re saying it only works if he’s a monkey brained piece of crap who shouldn’t be allowed near any responsibility ever. His behaviour only makes sense up until the point where I absolutely refuse to allow that to be something accepted as even the worst. It’s not a C- barely-passing grade, it’s a big ol’ F on his human-being report card.
Albertans are, by and large, our shittiest people. Like, I know some nice people from there but they’re rare and I only know them because they left. They’re loud, obnoxious, stupid as hell, and the only thing really have is oil so they’ve made it, and cosplaying being country, their entire personality.
Fuck Alberta.
Literally talking to my DM about this right now. You have to grade on a curve but absolutely good, kind, even in control people can be barbarians. Frankly the entire self-limitation people put on themselves by forcing a class based on tropes is getting tiring.
Hell, I had an idea for a barbarian that doesn’t get bad but instead just locks in. Just goes real quiet and fuck’s shit up.
You can also make a paladin that doesn’t wear plate armour, who uses a bow, and who’s oath is to protect their village or simply they just love their wife a lot and it’s their wedding vows.
Hell yes, Abserd-style multiclass incoming.
“Small number of people it serves?” You’re just out here trolling because you think being frustrating is funny, aren’t you?
Cars a privilege when your city is garbage. When it’s well built they’re more of a pain.
I own a literal sportscar from when I lived in a car centric place and now I keep it parked behind my mid-density apartment, rarely using it because it’s almost never better than taking public transit. You have to be super rich for it to be actually better because then you can pay for all the parking fees, maintenance, etc. without much thought. I’m not a rich person(BRZs are not expensive sportscars) and all the extra maintenance and tires and whatever else are such a huge pain to deal with and I do most of the work myself!
What I’m trying to say is that, as someone who can actually claim to “be a car person”, and who has all the skills to back that up, people who think cars are objectively better are dumb as hell and you shouldn’t let their hollow words get to you if you can help it. They’re just losers who repeat shit fed to them by companies like GM so said companies can make more money.
“That’s so weird!”
“And what are you doing?”
“…”
They expect embarrassment but they will only get pity.
Isn’t that what the entire thing is balanced precariously on top of? So it’s not absent from the meme, it’s lurking in the background, ever-present.
They genuinely think they’re boycotting for the same reason other people boycott Nazi run business. The difference is that they’re dumb as rocks and will believe whatever the angry men on TV tell them.
If the next person getting tied down holds down the person currently being tied down then this could work. I’m sure they’d be game so that’s fine.
Zoning is not a bad thing, bad zoning is. Zoning can stop there being massive polluting factories right outside people’s homes and outside of fragile ecosystems, for example. Outside of airports it requires builders to include AC so that people don’t have to have their windows open to cool their homes(because of the noise). The reason people love old European cities with all their character is to do with zoning laws.
The problem with the US, and us in Canada too, is that zoning is done incredibly poorly. Shitty neighbourhoods with little-to-no mixed-uses and two-story max buildings fucking sucks. I’m glad I live in Montréal in one of the three-story walk-ups with a Depanneur across the street and all the shops I need around the corner down my neighbourhood’s main street.
Anyway the point is that regulations and control or better than no regulations and control but we have a responsibility to do it well, something places like US are famously bad about.
I’d die for a bean yaknowwhatI’msaying
Pythagoras what a weird dude.
Ah, but you see, arithmetic is scary.
The only time I get too much to deal with is when I’m rolling four dice per attack, twice per round, and want to have a high level of confidence in my answer while also not taking up everyone’s time. For that I just made a spreadsheet and moved on with it.
They do include them, but I only use backgrounds as ways to pad out the mechanics and that choice is heavily influenced by the background I’ve already created. My current character is using the custom option because none of the backgrounds really fit.
Buddy we’re playing adventurers who are by their nature main characters. We can’t Dues-ex everything but we can know things. Also who’s to say we’re city dwellers? Both my last characters lived well outside city limits. And when you live in a world with actual trolls you don’t think their children’s stories would have key information like that? How many of our own children’s stories include warnings? How many myths and legends? Hell the bible likely said to not eat pig because it made people sick and everyone thought it was some will of god shit so they stayed away.
If I made a player roll for it, say their character really probably wouldn’t know, then I’d make that shit a DC 5. Like, “everyone else knows it but you missed that lesson, sorry.”
Making characters stupid for “realism” based in a misunderstanding of how either world works is just boring for nothing.
I have bad news for you but the Conservatives love to force things on people. It’s a big part of who they are. They vote against LGBT+ people’s rights and many think are supportive of what’s going on in the US. They take away services so that private industry can come in and charge you an arm and a leg for a worse service. They threaten the CBC because apparently for-profit media is somehow less biased(it’s less likely to point out how shit they are and doesn’t ask them hard questions which is apparently “bias”). Alberta Conservatives are trying to put stickers on driver’s licenses belonging to immigrants for fuck’s sake.
The Conservatives aren’t good people and they don’t care about freedom if it means the freedom to do anything outside of their little ideal. Carney also sucks but a) this isn’t a two-party system and b) if the Cons are your lesser of two evils then you need to sit down and process why that really is.
You can also look at the numbers in the original, full-size video, they’re all weird. Different ways to check these things(if available, of course).
