Probably honestly. I think most people looking for something like that would wear a smartwatch. Garmin might have some but they are probably closer to a typical smartwatch than you would want to have and I think are also going to all be digital

I think there are gshocks with silent alarms, but they are all digital so not really the traditional watch look you are going for
Yeah that makes sense. I’m sure there’s parts I’m missing as well due to my only evidence being anecdotal
I think you have a good point. However, a lot of the people I personally know who use short form video platforms will sit and scroll on them for hours at a time. I also notice that most of them are not able to sit through a tv show or movie without going and checking the same short form platforms. I think you may be right that part of it is not wanting to watch longer videos vertically, but to me it also seems like there is more to it than that.

1·7 months agoYeah that makes a lot more sense to me. I can definitely understand that the algorithm might be very large and complex for one person to understand, but it isn’t magic.

2·7 months agoHmm. That is interesting, and I admit it does seem like the company that made it is also still researching their own model, but some parts of the article seem a bit dramatic (not sure if there is a better word).
Like when it says the model doesn’t “admit” to how it solved the math problem when asked. Of course it doesn’t, it is made for humans to interact with so it is not going to tell a human how a computer does math, it makes more sense for it to explain the “human” method.
Interesting stuff though, thanks for the article!

While I agree with most of your points, this is a strange thing to say. Sure, you and I don’t know why LLMs return the responses they do, but the people who actually make them definitely know how they work.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•[EU] I want to replace an old multi-socket but the majority of the ones sold today don't have this pin? Why is that and does that mean they are not connected to the ground?
1·7 months agoI hear people use earth in English sometimes, but I think “earth ground” is pretty common

True. I would consider finding another way to have a silent alarm that isn’t a watch so you don’t have to limit yourself to such a specific category
