It violated our own laws, international laws, and as far as I’m concerned it’s both an act of war, and possibly a literal war crime (please, anyone with more knowledge than me weigh in on that last one) and every other country should treat ours accordingly. We broadcast to the world that it’s do what our leader wants or we will take whatever we feel like.

As a us citizen it’s very clear what the US government wants it to mean.

This is only kind of related, due to elevators, but I love when I see objective markers in a game, and take an elevator and the marker just smoothly slides away instead of staying steady for a second and popping up in a different location.

It just makes the elevator feel like an elevator instead of a loading buffer.

Like… What possible news source could you be basing this off? I’ll admit I don’t keep up with global news like I could, but it seems pretty stab-free in the UK and that’s why it’s such a big deal when it does happen.

Also just this past month I’ve heard someone talk shit about gun control because of a shooting in a relatively gun-free country “look how that helped them”… Uhhhhhh yeah let’s just ignore all the mass shootings in our own backyard that don’t even make news anymore because it’s so frequent.

A local church got fined something like 150k for hosting a soup kitchen every Thursday and only stopped because cops started breaking it up and arresting people.

In the same month, the only local food bank closed for a plethora of reasons (no donations, lack of enough/consistent volunteers, etc)

Cops started threatening to arrest people who gave anyone food on the side of the road.

Honestly I’ve thought cm002 was a bot before as well, but they engage in comment sections often enough to say either it’s not, or it’s a user hopping on to check bot progress.

Either way, most likely case is it’s a user that saw a funny meme, and reposted it since not every sire is federated with others and some communities might not see it, especially if it’s to a world or ml domain.

Also tangentially related, anyone remember the huge r*ddit drama over a poweruser constantly reposting things with top comment responses to farm karma? That was a fun glance into people who take imaginary internet points too seriously. I’m glad lemmy doesn’t keep track of total votes.

The food could have been given to someone hungry before it spoiled in the fridge.

The furniture could have been given to someone else instead of tossing it for the newer model/different decor.

My in-laws throw half-eaten food away every day. They redecorate for every season and usually only keep entire couches for 2-3 years. I’m assuming they’re an extreme outlier, but I know plenty of people who toss food like it’s fashionable to waste half your fridge every week, and get new furniture when I see nothing wrong with the old furniture.

Too few are the type to get a new chair only when the old one has broken in half, and eat everything they made for lunch.
