Thanks for this question. As the weather cools, I’ve started considering the same thing. Leaving the windows open overnight never seems to cool the house down enough on its own. I’ve been considering using the A/C to help, that way I don’t have to run it as much during the day. Glad I’m not the only one thinking this way.

I’m wondering if this will harm the operation of the air conditioner in any way, given that I have a whole-home HVAC system, and they’re designed to work with the windows closed.

Why did time just start flying by after COVID started, and never slowed back down? I’m only in my 30s, but I feel like my life is already more than halfway over. My body feels the same too. I haven’t paid a subscription for entertainment for a handful of years now, but now I’m starting to understand why people are canceling streaming services en masse. Disney+ was $6.99/mo back when I had it but I heard it’s also $20-something a month now too. People just needed a good excuse to cancel, and now they have one.

Yes but a good manager will arrange a replacement for you after you inform them that you’re putting in the PTO. It shouldn’t fall on your shoulders.

If they can’t find a replacement then they should hire more people and try to overstaff every single day so that there’s always someone to cover. That’s what my workplace does, and because of that there has never been an issue with me taking PTO whenever the hell I feel like it.

Well luckily for you I have restaurant industry experience, so I already know how to stack them the right way.
