Would be interesting for parents with kids that keep sneaking treats from the freezer despite multiple warnings…

1·2 years agoThe best ad I saw for Reddit (back before the grand Digg migration) was one day, everyone agreed to stop posting direct links to articles and instead post the links to the Reddit discussions for said articles.
Suddenly, one day, the entire Digg feed was links to Reddit.
We should do the same thing (on say 8/1) to give time for the different federated instances to get accustomed to the higher traffic, more activity on the feed, and more people to welcome the future Reddit refuges, just like Redditors once welcomed us during the Digg 4.0 exodus.

Many forget (or don’t realize) it wasn’t the graphics alone, it was the smooth 3D motion.
Before the 3D console era (and the equivalent arcade machines) most “3D” motion was scaled and stacked sprites. The rest of the time we had 2D scrolling.
Two examples of the best of 16 bit 3D effects:
Galaxy Force II
Power Drift
Which used 3x CPUs like the Genesis clocked at 12.5 Ghz
Compare to the first gen 3D console 3D effects:
Soul Edge - PS1
Panzer Dragoon Zwei - Saturn
