Yeah, that’s our reality. I was only speaking in hypothetical.
People keep asking me, and I haven’t really had an answer, but now yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.

I agree with all this bullets and would love to add one more: the Linux user experience and community. You have to accept that your operating system will be an ongoing project in and of itself, and that the Linux community is not newbie friendly and has a lot of troubleshooting deadends.
Linux on the desktop still isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I can’t imagine a phone being any better. I still had to sneakernet WiFi drivers onto a laptop with a new Linux install, this year. Same shit I was doing 15 years ago.
I admire the generosity you’re giving Google here, but even if fascism wasn’t on the rise globally, I could see them doing this just for the all-important purpose of making more money. Rent-seeking by way of requiring an account (and soon after, a credit card) to access a feature that was once open and free.
Google has been killing free services for over a decade now, I have to imagine they’ve long decided to monetize and advertise on every possible channel and wavelength.
That’s why stochastic terrorism is their weapon of choice. The pretty faces get to keep beating the drum from (relative) safety, knowing that somewhere out there a mentally unstable gun nut will take their calls to action to heart and open fire on a grocery store.
You might consider that slow and inefficient by Nazi standards, but they’re more than happy with that outcome. It avoids the alternative, where it gets to the point where they’re choking down cyanide and lead in a concrete bunker somewhere.
May as well make a new alt, you’ve already burned this one too the ground.
You could pick up the manga, but I knew there was no way they were gonna fit the last arc in this season. They will probably do a movie, like they did at the end of Kaguya.
Kolektiva.social. I block the whole instance if that gives any indication.
Speaking of, where’s kolektiva these days?
Then you’ve got my instance that’s running mbin but still calls itself kbin.earth. Go figure.
1, 2, and 3 are tankies, 4 and 5 are conservative. (I think 5 is the trick one)
The part of that video that makes me empathize with his experience is the fact that Luke took on the same challenge, happened to choose Mint, and had no problem installing Steam. So you run into this catastrophic failure, and even your friend can only tell you “worked on my machine, I don’t know what to tell ya.” Then you search the internet and just keep finding the same instructions you just followed, to the letter. So you share your experience, and then half the Linux community blames you for “not heeding the warnings.”
Got me there.
Vance’s stance on Russia is less important IMO than his stance on Americans.
Nothing lasts forever, especially on the Internet, but I’m happy to say I enjoyed kbin.social for as long as I used it.
Thanks Ernest! Good luck on your recovery and next projects!
Yay
What do I win?
Excellent idea, please do this again sometime.
2 and 5 are tankies?
Arghh hate that shit. I don’t know why online argumenters love to start with “No and.” I don’t block because of it but man, nobody learns how to have a constructive debate anymore.
