linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Probably a good idea to go see how much storage will be necessary...
16·1 month agoI would add in some rom collections and book repositories as well. The whole library of Nintendo games is under a gig and would go a long way for entertaining people.

Bro bought bootlegs thinking they were official
Nothing all self contained like that but you can replicate it with most tiling window managers, a few terminal anpps, and some configurations.
I put my phone back in its box when I upgrade. It’s like a little phone coffin…

Android@lemdro.id•Google reveals its Android for PC is coming next yearEnglish
18·2 months agoIt’s an android-x86 based OS. Basically android for PC. There have been builds of android for X86 for a good while now but I can’t imagine using that as a daily driver.
I completely forgot that grub could be themed… brb

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you buy a Smart Glass in the foreseeable future?
6·2 months agoLiterally the only thing I would want “smart” glasses to do is play videos or show messages from select apps. Ditch the shitty camera, don’t ever connect to an “AI” service, and for the love of god, don’t be made to lock into a big tech company…

Linux@lemmy.world•Can I upgrade CPU and motherboard without reinstalling fedora and remapping additional drives?English
5·2 months agoYeah, Linux drivers are all in the kernel and your hardware uuids won’t change except for the parts that get swapped out. You will have issues if you are changing cpu architecture though. I haven’t tried moving from x86 to x86_64 but I can imagine that it will cause problems.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•The excellent survivor-like Halls of Torment is getting a big DLC and free updateEnglish
12·3 months agoI love this game. It’s like vampire survivors and Diablo had a baby and it has enough DNA from both to make fans of either happy.

Privacy@lemmy.world•How do i prevent saving of cookies from some websites?English
5·5 months agoI use Firefox with privacy badger, uBlock, and IronVest. I also have it set to disable 3rd party cookies. Sometimes 1st party cookies are necessary to interact with a site but if I’m not interacting (I clicked a link and view a single page) I get no cookies.
I used homemade soap for the first time recently. People who haven’t tried it are missing out. My skin felt so good afterward. I needed to learn to make my own. There is a LOT that can go into it and after this batch I’m working on developing my own recipes that will achieve the features I want. My wife wants to try using goat milk and that has its own complications but still not too challenging.
I used green mica powder and charcoal powder.
Thank you! I decided to try making it after I also stumbled upon a post about making soap elsewhere. It’s fun but can be complicated.

Thats the thing, most people are doing to have a little pocket node to carry around and a much smaller percentage of people will go for rooftop nodes. I do think that Meshtastic could do a better job of letting people know what settings to use for their area and type of node. In busy areas with lots of rooftop nodes, having more people on client-mute helps keep congestion low.
