Isn’t this similar to what Google and the Pentagon are trying to accomplish with Project Maven? I believe Palantir, Amazon and Microsoft are also part of it.

What part of it is bullshit?
Thanks, I had no idea of the severity. I wonder if they’ll be able to fix it.
I convinced my fiance to switch over to GOS because I’ve had moderate success with it for about a year now. So of course this happens as soon as she made the switch. Now she’s talking about getting an iPhone.
I thought the RCS thing was also happening on stock Android? Wasn’t it more of a carrier thing?
At 11:45, the cop explains to them that because they didn’t avoid a stationary object in the road, they are at fault according to California law. So their insurance might not even cover it.

“He was most certainly an edgelord, an irony guy,” one friend said. (Edgelord is online-speak for someone who likes to espouse edgy, nihilistic views). Asked about the inscription on the bullet, the friend said: “Josh was an edgelord who wanted someone to get blamed. I think he tried his best to write something goofy … to rile people up.”
Also, the elephant in the room here is that only ICE Detainees were shot. Why would you write “anti-ICE” on the ammo and then shoot the people that are in ICE custody? None of it makes sense unless you view it through one of two lenses:
Either way, it’s being used to create/push a narrative that leftists are the violent members of society and our mainstream media is not challenging it at all.
What motive would a leftist possibly have for murdering ICE detainees?

Read the rest of the discussion. To me, you come across as part of a mob trying to defend Russian state media.
And I’m saying that’s a problem with your reading comprehension; not the content of my argument. Especially because I never defended Russian state media. I too think state media is bad. The difference between you and I is that I’m not fooled by the corporate proxy that is western media.
I’m not arguing that all of western media is perfect; much of it is corrupt (especially in the US, but that is not all of the west). But not all of it is that bad.
Again, go on…
I am aware that making sense of that diversity requires critical thought, which is in increasingly short supply in recent years.
And yet you seem to struggle to explain how it’s so “diverse.” What’s diverse about it? Who are the non-corrupt Western sources? Please tell me, since I’m so stupid 😕
but that’s not all of western media.
Please, go on. I’d love to hear more.
I still don’t get why so many people here are so desperate to defend the state-controlled media of a brutal dictatorship.
…or just accuse me of something I wasn’t doing. You’re definitely someone who approaches things in good faith, unlike the Russians.
You cannot be serious. You know Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post, right? What do you think is happening here?
The only difference between Russian State media and our media, is that the western ruling class is savvy enough to launder their propaganda through privately owned media.
You can bet that with nearly two decades of data, other companies like Facebook and Twitter are doing the same. You can also bet that companies like Palantir are working to build files on each person that aggregates their data across all social media as well as other surveillance metrics. As Meredith Whitaker explains, this leads to some pretty frightening possibilities such as “signature strikes”
That’s the point of the original post though. Google is starting to make development of these custom ROMs more difficult. If Google ever decided to lock down the bootloader for new Pixels, Graphene would be in a world of hurt. I also use GrapheneOS and love it, but who knows if it will be alive two or three years from now.
Agreed 100%
Also, I hate this narrative that, “if only we got rid of the one insane man (Netanyahu), this nightmare would be over.”
Israel has had the same goals of ethnic cleansing Palestine for decades, long before Netanyahu entered the picture. Removing him would treat a symptom, but not the problem itself.
Been thinking a lot about this. I think it’s going to be more prison labor. New crimes will be invented and punishments for existing crimes will become more severe in order to put more people behind bars.
Given the way things are going, i think that the homeless will be an initial target, but I think we’re also going to see an unprecedented criminalization of our children. Children already have fewer rights in school, so it will be easy to transfer that idea to the workplace. States like Iowa have already started rolling back child labor laws. The path ahead of the USA looks dark.
I bought a Flint 2 GL-MT6000 and I’ve been pretty happy with the choice.
Side note: Flint 3 just came out, but I’m not familiar enough with it to recommend.
I’m a pretty big generative AI hater when it comes to art and writing. I don’t think generative AI can make meaningful art because it cannot come up with new concepts. Art is something that AI should be freeing up time in our lives for us to do. But that’s not how it’s shaping up.
However, AI is very helpful for understanding codebases and doing things like autocompletion. This is because code is less expressive than human language and it’s easier for AI to approximate what is necessary.
Yep, anyone who assumes that the presence of a .cursor directory automatically means that:
Is either arguing in bad faith or has no idea what they’re talking about.
It could be something as simple as one dev trying out cursor (an editor thats literally just a vscode fork with ai features) and accidentally committing their .cursor directory (really easy to do).
I think they know that most people will eventually give in (or accidentally say yes) if they have to close a notification every time they want to do something.
Like you, I aim not to be “most people.”
PIA was also purchased by the Israeli company, Kape Technologies, which is tied to Unit 8200. If your concern is privacy, I would recommend do against it.
