  • Interesting video, but seems very conspiracy-oriented.

I’d like to make an observation though…

What if the bullet was a 30-06, but the cartridge was not performing optimally, either intentionally de-rated to reduce the chance of overpenetrating the target, or unintentionally degraded due to a problem with the round?

The shooter (if you believe the FBI text messages) said he used his grandfather’s rifle. A rifle which was unlikely to be noticed as missing, which to me says “not used that often”. So I suspect the cartridge had degraded. I’d say that this explains the neck shot… The round was traveling slower and fell a few extra inches from the intended headshot.

This would also explain why the time from the flash in the video (which could be any number of things really) to time of impact indicates a range of 200 yards, when the shooter was more like 157yards away (last I saw this was the distance, not sure if it is correct). This also explains why the round didn’t “blow his head completely off” as at least one other “gun expert” has told me it would do.

Things to still be considered… Where did the round ultimately end up? Even with a lower power cartridge, I’d expect the 30-06 to go all the way through a human neck. Maybe it hit the spine, but I doubt that would have stopped it. As far as I’m aware, they have not recovered the bullet that hit Charlie.

I wish I was an engineer, but I have read a few mechanical engineering books with chapters on gears, and it really is a bottomless pit.

In the example, I recall seeing a method a ways back where 3 interlaced gears could rotate simultaneously. Two are linked traditionally, while one is a helical gear that slides though the teeth of the other two. It had a slick animation, wish I could find it.

  • Probably a bad idea. If I was leading a boarding party, and all the defender’s retreated below decks, I’d consider it a victory. Take down the sails, pin the rudder, then park my ship outside of their cannons’ firing arc. Then just wait. Maybe have my crew bring over buckets of shit, vomit, or whatever other vile substances we could find, and dump them down the grates. If I got real desperate, I could just board up the doors and set the ship on fire. Sure, I’ll miss out on most of the treasure, but those dwarves will probably burn to death before the boat totally sinks.

  • I think the author’s are being cautious about calling out someone’s appearance. It can be hard to determine if a plastic surgery did happen, and if it was purely cosmetic.

Like if you look at her now, she clearly has a difference nose (more noticeable in more recent photos), but writing “Kristi had a nose job to look more like Ivanka” lands the wrong way if you can’t prove that she actually had a nose job, and that it was for that reason. Imagine how bad your ass would get sued if she actually had a cyst or melanoma on her nose, and had to have it removed and then get reconstructive surgery?

Yeah well, one is offline for no reason, another is broken, two people are buying alcohol and waiting for the attendant to notice the flashing lights, one has a person with an over packed shopping cart and the last one has someone yapping into their cell on speaker while one-handing the entire process.

All those people would go much faster in a full service line, leaving you free to self-check if you wanted to.

I don’t have to stand in a irritated line of idiots,

You’re literally describing the self checkout line here.

I refuse to believe you’ve never been in line, absolutely seething while the poor grandma in front of you is trying lookup, scan and bag her groceries while multiple store employees stand by and watch… And then they needed to help anyway because she has a purse full of expired coupons!

  • There were 1.95 million voters in MS in 2024. Trump got ~748,000 votes in the state, Kamala got ~466,000. How is it pointless to vote in a state where 700,000 people didn’t?

I fucking hate it when people say it’s pointless to vote. People thought Georgia would never go blue until it fucking happened in 2020, because people went out and voted.

    Stop spreading that disinfo.

Hell, California has 22 million registered voters, and Kamala only got 9 million of those. That state isn’t as blue as you might think it is.

I’d have to doublecheck my numbers, but I’m pretty sure the only election where more peole voted for a candidate than didn’t vote at all, was 2020. Technically, “nobody” has been the winning vote for at least my entire lifetime.

I would say, in states where your vote seems to matter the least, and it’s the hardest to vote, those are the states where it is the most important that you actually do vote, because the shitbag republicans who have cooked up those crooked election maps and fucked around with the voting process, are relying on you to not vote.
