You’re the only one saying she would be the same.
You can get a used ball lock/corny keg, a carbonation cap, a co2 cylinder, and a pressure regulator, and make it 5 gallons at a time if you want. No support for Israel involved :)
Bit pricy, the whole setup you need will probably run about $100-200 depending where you get it, but you can put damn near any liquid in it and make it carbonated if you want. Wine, juice, water, sugar water, flavored sugar water, milk if you feel bold (tho at that point just make kefir, that’s nice and bubbly), beer, liquor probably…
Actually I just looked at the price of a soda stream and this isn’t that pricy by comparison… so there’s that.
I don’t have a soda stream, but I do have a carbonation cap for my 1/8 barrel homebrew kegs, and have used it to make “Italian soda” (carbonated water to which you add flavor syrup/puree in the glass).
Basically the same thing, just a lot bigger. I can’t fathom a reason to not want to use it if you like sparkling drinks, it’s a lot cheaper than buying soda water or whatever. Especially if you aren’t buying single use co2 charges and throwing them away after. I guess that would be my only real concern, personally. I hate those things. Such a small capacity makes them very wasteful, even if they technically/eventually get reused.
I wonder if this is the first time Calvin realized dad is full of shit, like, all the time…
I don’t really recall another one where he calls him out, it’s usually mom that does it.
Anyone know?

It’s so weird, I don’t even notice the lack of ads most of the time (pihole, never leave home, so it’s roughly the same experience I’m used to)
But when I go out? Oh man fediverse is the only site I’ll use because I know it’s safe from ads. The other privacy/user-focus stuff is just a bonus.
(I don’t have any friends around here, so just sort of go out to be out, and usually for food)
You literally can’t win with boomer Karens.
They don’t even recognize the hypocrisy involved in being a nosy, self-centered prick, and whining about other people being rude.
“Wow, you must be so ashamed of yourself for behaving like that, how embarrassing!”(said with over-the-too mock concern) works well for that sort of person.
You know I love the idea of cryostasis, and the idea of reanimating people after death is great.
But why the fuck would future humans bother bringing all these people back, even if they could? Even if they have a utopian society free of scarcity and inequality, they would be bringing back mostly rich people who lived in a super different and bad time and have literally nothing positive to contribute to the utopian future, since they were a large part of the problems of today in the first place. Plus the vast majority of them are almost certainly elitist assholes who nobody in a utopia would want to be around.
Maybe it would be a humanitarian thing, but if these people are dead and frozen there’s no real imperative to do this to end suffering or something. Or I guess maybe bringing them back to try and figure out what the hell their damage is that they felt ruining everything was a better option than working toward the betterment of all… but they’d only need a few brains in vats for that, no bodies, so sucks to suck, cryofolks.
If future humans don’t have a utopian society, the only real use for people from so long ago that I can come up with would be research subjects or slaves. And frankly there are easier ways to go about getting those…
So I see no possible future where people who cryopreserve get brought back en masse. Even if it’s entirely possible to surmount the technical hurdles.
They get doom to run on it.
My burner igniters aren’t electronic-control and they still failed in a less than decade old stove that was not heavily used at all (I live alone and use the stove, not even the specific burners that failed, maaaaaaaaybe monthly)
They just make their parts cheap overall. Induction isn’t enshittification-proof. If anything it’s more susceptible, being entirely electronic.
That said I’d trade my gas stove for induction if I could, even with enshittification.
