Addictive and sustainable aren’t opposites. If anything, addictiveness makes some things MORE sustainable. Coffee drinking is WAY more sustainable of a habit than exercise and meditation

8·14 hours agoCharging and discharging a lithium battery when it’s within the 20% to 80% level adds essentially no wear to the battery. Eg discharging from 40% down to 30% and then recharging it back to 40% basically does nothing to your battery

7·6 days agoEh, it’s ok. I’d definitely rank it below many other Star Trek series, but if you’ve seen all the better ones already then Discovery is worth a watch
Aside from the app installation process being different, what’s to learn? The rest of it works like every other computer you’ve ever used

Heck, vacuum tubes can be used to make a computer, and they’re relatively easy to make. Even further, purely mechanical computers exist, and they can do serious complex calculations

Being on an isolated island greatly reduces their interconnectedness with other species, but definitely doesn’t eliminate it completely
By that definition everything is a ship, making the word useless.

2·20 days agoThe tax raise should be graduated, not flat. It should be something like 0 percent on the lowest earners, .02 percent on the middle earners, and .2 percent on the highest earners
