You’d want to boot a live USB and do this or use clonezilla, because trying to DD or PV an in-use drive to another is going to create problems since the system is altering data as its running, while you copy

BCsven@lemmy.cato Proton @lemmy.world•Those of you who complain about it on every post might be interested to know they're (slowly) moving towards a Proton Drive app for LinuxEnglish1·5 hours ago😀 yeah, to me that is a waste of time… But everyone wants a AI somewhere
With how much effort they put into getting WSL1 and the WSL2 working, it makes me think they will end up switching to Linux and just have Windows webapps as services
Hmm, I was thinking 2013 era when they moved to the private style running of a business, I assumed they switched, because our service her sucked after that. Guy would drive ast our house to put a “sorry we missed you” tag in the community mailbox and then drive by our house on the way back out.
When the community mailbox was broken into and locks were broken, there was no method to contact CP to report it. They only had report a mail delivery failure from sender end, so I had to fake a delivery address to open a ticket with them

I found when my new system bogs down it is ai.exe hogging resources. Which is part of the Office install. I go into the folders (2 places) and delete ai.exe aimgr.DLL and a few others and the system behaves better till an update from MS restores the files
BCsven@lemmy.cato Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada Post’s Moment Of Reckoning May Finally Be Here1·13 hours agoI agree that would work, till the next time they want more profit and then they’d cut the first part you mentioned to be less cloection days. Mail should be a government service not a business trying to increase profits
The TPM chip is separate on my motherboard, it dosnt have to be TPM in the chip for the requirement. Also, after months of W11 not getting adopted like they thought, they rolled back the specs on chips to include ones they denied the first time.

My work laptop had required CPU, but said can’t upgrade due to TPM chip being 1.2 and requirements are TPM 2.0. So I downloaded the firmware updater to get the TPM to 2.0. Then I reran the checker and it said nope CPU not supported. Lol, just arbitrary nonsense.
Regularly, file explorer just stops being an explorer for me. Window sizing and buttons work, but I can’t select files or folders. I have to exit file explorer and relaunch it.
:) I have an old 2010 network drive, running Debian and OpenMediaVault for music and video shares. It has 256MB of memory and doesn’t need it all to act as a folder share and streaming box. Windows 11 needing such a high end chip to run is just really poor optimization
Is the Orange pi like the RPi where 3 of the gpio pins can vary the fan speed?
Most we demo’d and reno’d where sized equally and so drywall could go flush back over top, and pulling out a stud from a doorway you could reuse elsewhere to match.
There was only a few where it looked liked somebody had assembled their house from random scraps. Instead of full studs sometimes they were 3 vertical pieces nailed against 2 or 3 other pieces to make a Stud, and the dimensions were all over the map
Right so you courier it to CP, and it may sit if you missed the outgoing weekly date.
Dates that you say are to allow for mail, but that is on a daily delivery schedule, you add several weeks delay, and businesses are now floating more coat longere. Maybe 45 days instead of 21 etc.
I agree mail sucks in a digital age, but people aren’t there yet.
We have online system here so you can use, say Studio tax, to login to your CRA account and it auto downloads all the documents and prefills the entries.
So if your bill is produced say on the 1st of the month AFTER delivery was collected, now it sits till the post picks it up a week later, then transit across a province or country for several days where logistics have to work out for continuous flow, but then sits at next place for a weekly delivery, you can understand that a letter could take 2 weeks maybe 3, to reach you, and the payment due dates are sometimes short so you miss payment date, especially if you have to mail payment back. Legal documents also have response times for filings.
There are other examples but I think this illustrates why
Is this related to Trumps term and his kleptocracy?
