Hi, I know the past few weeks have been somewhat challenging for mods given the rhetoric around certain events.
I can say some rather inflammatory things.
I noticed that there is a gap in my history, I know I posted certain things, some not so nice, and I would understand their removal.
However, there’s nearly a month gap and absolutely no mod log regarding any comments I’ve left.
Did I get Pam Bondi’d? Or something.
Using Voyager for android
The last modlog entry I see is from 2 months ago.
Were those comments on any other account, or do you remember what communities you commented in?
Did I get Pam Bondi’d? Or something.
I’m not sure what this is referring to, but we don’t have any form of shadow-bans. Any removals should be reflected in the mod logs. Looking at the web interface, I also don’t see anything recent for your account: https://lemmy.ca/modlog
I have only this account.
Probably in news / politics.
There are definitely several comments missing.
There’s a gap in my history for a month. I usually comment a few times a week. Many referenced a recent polarizing event.
Pam bondi is the US attorney general.
She said she would go after people who hurt feelings and disrespected certain people who I definitely disrespected.
That part was a joke… I hope.
I am Canadian so I don’t think I can be extradited for not being nice… I hope.
I see that you’re banned from a politics community and a news community:
https://lemmy.ca/modlog?page=1&actionType=ModBanFromCommunity&userId=380817
Were those the communities you tried commenting in / did your app still let you comment in those communities? If so, then I think those comments never actually went through, and it might be something to suggest to the app’s developers
Well, this is strange…
I still have the replies in my inbox and I can find my comments by viewing the replies.
So, can you see that there is a gap from 1month to 6 days ago in my comment history? Or can you see them?
This is what I see in my comments:
And these are definitely replies to the missing comments.
Oh wait, I think it’s a bug of some kind.
Those comments still exist, for example: https://lemmy.ca/post/49431976/18232436
In the web UI, when viewing your profile, if you keep clicking ‘Next’, you will eventually see those other comments. Same as if you filter to only display the comments.
For some reason, when viewing your profile, Lemmy is interspersing your old posts at incorrect spots. I don’t see anything wrong in the database for those posts, so it’s weird that both the main Web UI and your app is doing that. I’ll check with the other admins to see what might be happening there.
Thanks for looking into all this.
No.
These were within the last month.
There was interaction with my comments.
I know I’m banned from a couple -it doesn’t let me post on them. And I unsubbed from them. And I browse by Home/my subscriptions.
Is it possible that an instance could simply remove an entire subject or posts and not have it logged?
I know I posted comments.
I know they were replied to.
I remember the quotes I used by the person who I was commenting about.
Poof. Vanished.
I guess I average about 10 comments a day.
A month missing in my comment history is…strange.
And I’m certain those weren’t the only communities I commented in.
I also regularly comment in Linux and android and privacy.
