Hi Mlem Community,
Mlem 2.3 is now available on the App Store, featuring a new design with Liquid Glass, improved PieFed support, and several smaller features and bug fixes.
Cheers,
Mlem is a free and open source project. 100% of our funding, which pays for things like server time, comes from our generous donors; we do not, and will never, run ads or sell data. If you’d like to help support Mlem, you can donate here.

Top work! Thanks for your continued support and for making Mlem an amazing app.
it’s looking so good! WOOOO 🙌
That liquid glass update was so quick!! Thanks for all your hard work!
HANDS DOWN best app on the market. Beautiful AND functional. Thanks for your work folks
I no longer can view my saved posts. It’s not on the Feeds page nor my profile tab.
Was this intended?
Hi, we’ve moved the Saved posts to the top of the “Search” tab.
Thanks!
So, I’ve been struggling to get used to the liquid aesthetic, much less like it.
But this… this is the first app that’s actually made it make sense. Absolutely beautiful!
I haven’t used the app before this update—in fact, I never used Lemmy before and this app is my only interaction with it. I love it! It works well, I’ve personally encountered no bugs, and it’s made Lemmy look like a great alternative to Reddit.
Having said that: I would like to see videos use the native player, or have an option to do so by default. This is the only thing I would change about it.
Thanks for the feedback! The native player is unfortunately a bit picky, and doesn’t work with every video/animated file format. To keep the experience smooth and consistent, we decided to use our custom viewer for everything rather than open a different viewer depending on the file format.
Are there any specific features of the native player that you would like to see in Mlem?
Thanks for replying! I’m an aesthetics guy, and would be happy if it matched the native iOS aesthetic. I feel like Liquid Glass is incorporated perfectly everywhere in the app except the video player. The buttons give an iOS 18 vibe. In addition to this I really like the -10/+10 seconds function. I often want to skip back just so many seconds to hear something I missed or want to hear again.
I actually just finished implementing glass controls! They’ll be available in the next build. I’ll look into time skip buttons as well, that is a useful feature :)
You’re awesome! I like that you take the time to discuss what your user base wants in the app and are looking in to adding it or already have. Makes me appreciate the app even more!
Thanks so much for the work you’re doing!
For me on Mlem 2.3 (515) the feature to view the modlog seems to be broken. Tested both on my feddit.org user and on lemmy.ca. The log seems to be loading, but never actually finishes and thus shows nothing.
Thanks for the bug report! We’re working on this one and will have a patch out soon to fix it.
Thank you 🙏
This is fixed in the latest App Store patch (2.3.1)
Thank you, I do confirm that with the update the modlog works fine again!
Really well implemented, thanks so much. I love Mlem.
I wonder, though, what do the Mlem devs think of Apple’s new design language?
