I’ve been watching those owl nests at night and I wonder if they have some sort of social structure going on. They seem to communicate with each other in a way that’s not just about finding food or avoiding predators - it looks like they’re sharing information too, maybe even coordinating their hunting efforts. It makes me think that owls might be more intelligent than we give them credit for and could potentially have some sort of complex social hierarchy. But what if I’m reading too much into this? Maybe it’s just a bunch of birds looking out for each other in the wild. Either way, it’s definitely interesting to observe their behavior from afar.
the synchrony is almost palpable isn’t it blue eyes watching from the shadows later tonight and those owls seem to be orchestrating some sort of nocturnal ballet with each other sharing information coordinating hunting efforts perhaps even playing a game of avian chess but what if that’s exactly what they’re doing maybe we’ve been underestimating their cunning for far too long
