I was a little ill for a few days, not too bad, but didn’t feel like sitting out in lounge, so no Final Fantasy XIV this week.
Will be getting back to it over the weekend.
Instead I spent the time to finish Donkey Kong Bananza.
The last bits were pretty interesting, I even skipped collecting everything.
Did any of you notice any stutter during the last fight? When the boss does his big attack, screen will stutter for a bit, it would go back to normal right afterwards. Not a big deal, but I don’t recall noticing any performance issues through the game, so was weird to see that in the end.
After that, played some of the post-game, but didn’t find it interesting enough to complete it. So, as far as I am concerned, the game is done.
Also, played some more of Blue Route in AI: The Somnium Files, I am, I believe, on the last day of this route. After that there is a Pink Route, which diverges from Blue Route, and then Green Route, which was the first one I played, but required me to finish other routes before continuing further.
Things have gone in some weird direction in this route, and I am currently more confused then ever about what’s actually going on. Hopefully things will become clear when I finish all the routes.
What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?
Finished Baten Kaitos!
I think it almost took me two months now, despite only being about 50h long. Overall, I quite liked many things about the story and the gamplay. Although many systems didn’t work together in the late game - I don’t think I’ve crafted a single card in the second half.
In addition, I went through some demos today - just as a sort of palate cleanser before going either into Baten Kaitos Origins or something else, I don’t know yet.
I’ve tried Super Robot Wars Y, Labyrinth of the Demon King and Day of the Shell. There isn’t much to write about them, I don’t think I’ll pick up either of them. I just want to say that I adore the art style of Labyrinth of the Demon King - I just don’t enjoy the super slow gamplay horror games usually have.
Congratulations on finishing the game!
I have finished both my Switch and Switch 2 games, and can’t figure out what to start next. Want to play some cozy farming game, but the ones I want to play are either not on sale or don’t have good performance on Switch…
I’ve started Baten Kaitos Origins by now, but I’ve been looking at Harvestella as my next game. It’s partly a farming sim - although I don’t think it’s cozy at all with all the fighting and its apocalyptic season going on. I’ve heard an incredible amount of praise from the few people who played it.
Harvestella is a very flawed game, but I enjoyed my time with it. You’re right that the farming aspects are not as big as people would expect from the way it was marketed, they only takes a few minutes of the daily loop.
The biggest draw of the game is the worldbuilding and story, while gameplay and technical aspects are definitely mid.
Sounds about right. What sold me was people gushing about the game having some of the best written side characters you can find on the switch.
That’s interesting to know.
It’s in my list, I prefer to go from old to new though, and it feels weird playing it when I have tons of farming games older than that 😀 I’ll probably pick something in a day or so.
