The very idea that a bunch of rag tag untrained gun toters would stand up to a disciplined and hardened fighting force is ridiculous. The authors of the constitution fully intended for the rights of the people to form regulated militias with amrs shall not be infringed, not just any loonatic off the street.

    It’s literally the first half of the sentence the 2A people always leave off.

    “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
