I’m having a look at IMDB - Escape From New York - Connections but wondering if anyone here has any tips/favourites.

I might check out 2019: After the Fall of New York.

Definitely check out 2019: After the Fall of New York, it’s really solid.

Also, Escape from the Bronx (the sequel to 1990: The Bronx Warriors) is worth seeking out.
