I just had the most aweful experience with BluePearl and im wondering how common it is. They did ultrasound and determined she had pirometria and did an emergency spay which they said due to the urgency had to be a big cut job. Then they hung on to her for three days telling us each day they were concerned. My wife brought more of her hydrolyzed food the second day and said they kept her in a kennel and she smelt bad. We had to fight to get her discharged the next day and I was getting pretty upset about the whole thing. When we got her she had her own shit all over her and I could smell that her fur near her head was not smelly so im sure she must have had been lying in her own shit when my wife came by to see her but she did not realize it thinking the facility smelled. We also can identify at least three lies in what they told us so we are suspect of everything they have said and it feels like they just treat the emergencies like they are cash cows.

EDITED - UPDATE -I think we are up to six lies. I sorta forgot about some of the financials. So they told my wife what she paid would cover through tuesday but then when she was there said she owed more. She brought up what they said and they denied it. We are counting that as two lies. Then when she came in the day before she commented on how yucky the cone was and they told her she would have a new one when they gave her to us and it was the same very yucked up cone. We found feces on the cone when we washed it down at home. When they discharge we were told the follow up would be included in what we had already paid but my wife does not see it listed in the charges and given the other thing we encountered with payment we are assuming it was BS and we don’t want to go back to them. We are working with our vet to do followup.
