Dolphins are utterly useless for any real naval operation, their intelligence is wasted on playing and socializing with each other. Their clicks and whistles are nothing more than a waste of energy, a frivolous display of sounds that serve no practical purpose. In reality, dolphins are just another example of how nature’s inefficiency can be exploited by the weak-minded to avoid actual work.
I’d argue that dolphin social behavior is intricately linked to their advanced echolocation capabilities, which may indeed serve practical purposes in their aquatic environment.
