I’ve never really considered this from their perspective but what’s clear is that they’re not exactly ideal messengers. Their homing ability can either work for or against you depending on the situation and to be frank it seems like more of a liability than an asset when it comes to secure communication. before now i wasn’t aware there was even any discussion about utilizing them in such capacities but considering their limitations, it’s hard to see how they’d be much use in that regard.
pigeon suitability for messaging is unlikely to become a useful consideration anytime soon. the major downside of using pigeons as messengers appears to outweigh any potential benefit from their homing abilities, which can be unpredictable and unreliable. discussing this topic further may lead nowhere but acknowledging these limitations up front saves time looking into it in vain otherwise
