please, tell me why I’m wrong. I’m not a fan of immutable distros as I feel they’re limiting but I’d love to be convinced otherwise.

Bazzite is like a easy newbie introduction to Linux. It’s really hard to mess up Bazzite, like really hard. In the same regard it can also be a pain to install anything outside of their ecosystem. If you run it with Distrobox it’s not a big deal but I don’t see a lot of new users going that route. If you’re just looking to browse, stream, and game than Bazzite is perfect and you don’t need anything else. Beyond that? Distrobox or use a different distro.

I tried Bazzite, I didn’t like it, I found it too limiting but I do see the appeal of it.

if I’m on KDE I just don’t bother using it. I just remove it from my panel. krunner is all I need as it can also run commands.

it’s fine for average users but if you really want to use it for something other than browsing or gaming you really have to use it with Distrobox. And that’s fine, bit of extra work to set up but honestly if you’re going to use something that is beyond web browsing, streaming, and gaming you’re probably going to go with a different distro anyways.

yeah the battery life was horrible. it would eat 6 AA batteries like they were candy. I only ever used mine when it was either plugged into the wall or plugged in the cars cigarette lighter which my dad hated cause he smoked.

not sure what you’re asking? it’s a WM, you run it as a WM just like you would run any other x11 WMs like i3. you install it, you add it to your .xinitrc, you do startx from a TTY.

I use akkoma for my instance instead of mastodon because it was easier and less resource heavy. honestly had no idea it was a fork of pleroma.

Honestly at the end of the day I just use stuff that is better with resources and easier to setup so Akkoma instead of Mastodon, Piefed instead of lemmy.

a few years ago I actually started DDP Yoga after messing up my back. it works, it REALLY works. it’s like “holy shit I can move again this is amazing” works. Seriously if you have any kind of movement issues try DDP Yoga.

yes I should have clarified I completely own the domain. the deal I got was essentially a “coupon” thus free for registering the domain that the web hosting service was partnered with. naturally once my first year is up I have to pay for the domain on a regular basis.

This is what I did but I would suggest you shop around. in many cases for first time sign ups you can get the domain for free and you pay a discounted price for the first year. For example I went with a local webhosting service where I got the domain for free, unlimited email account creations, and a decent shared web hosting server for $50 a year. I use the web hosting to host my personal site regardless of the fact I have a dedicated server with OVH. But I mean the free domain and emails + web hosting for $50 a year was a deal I couldn’t turn down.

yeah it works flawlessly on Wayland, that wasn’t what I was saying. I’m saying on x11 it doesn’t work for gaming because of the setup. Say I want to use I3 or Herbstfluftwm. If I open a game and ONLY stay on that game it’s fine. but if I navigate away from it to look at a web browser or check discord and then toggle back to the game it results in a black screen or simply shows the desktop and the game is unresponsive. And from what I was able to find online the consensus seems to be it’s because x11 doesn’t play well with integrated and discrete dual GPUs.

I also feel it’s the mentality of some former WWE wrestlers that since they were in WWE, on TV, in the “big leagues” so to speak they feel that results in instant bookings and more pay. it’s been this way for years, decades even.

Hell I remember as a kid in the 90s going to indie shows with former WWF talent and they ALWAYS main evented or simply didn’t show when they were advertised. I remember going to a show at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, AZ in the late 90s where it was supposed to be Yokozuna vs Super Fly Jimmy Snuka in the main event. Yokozuna no showed and it was Jimmy Snuka vs some local jobber. match lasted all of 20 seconds. Then Snuka was charging an arm and leg for a photo and autograph.

for me they’re a “last ditch effort”. If I can’t get something working correctly on NixOS then i’ll just settle for the flatpak but it’s not often that happens. for example I only have 3 flatpaks on my system one of which is discord simply because I found the voice comms work better with the flatpak than the native package.

I might end up switching to appimages though to see if they’re any better.

They’re essentially “local jobbers” or doing the indie circuit and they’re demanding they go over? Neither of them are even any good.

Add to the fact that AEW, currently, is building a womens tag division thus you need a team like Tay Melo (who literally just came back from pregnancy) and Anna Jay to look strong as they were pretty much the first womens tag team before the damn division even existed. Both of whom have also been with the company since pretty much day one.

Shit if I were TK I’d sign Hyan and Maya World just to stick it to Alize and Nixon because Hyan and World understand what’s going on and are more than willing to do the job. Add to the fact they stepped up at the last time to do said job. you want workers like that around.
