frongt@lemmy.zipto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Those who don't use dashboards, how are you managing your services?English212·5 hours agoI’m not, really. I run docker-compose and it runs. That’s it.
It should delete that content too. At least as far as any of it is really ever deleted.
If you can, do it through a GDPR deletion request.
If a package manager can block an upgrade due to version dependencies, it can also pull in those dependencies for a partial upgrade.
I’m not familiar with arch or pacman. What prevents a package from becoming too new? Like if a new version of libssl is released that removes a necessary function but a package like Firefox has become abandoned, then even updating everything will result in a broken application. Does it not have version dependencies like debs and rpms?
I just use watchtower to update automatically.
Docker has a logs command.

This is indeed the tree I was thinking of, and yes it’s the sap that’s toxic. Dry bark should be safe to touch, but it does weep sap through its bark. The interior wood, leaves, and fruit all contain the sap, so you should absolutely not interact with those without protection.

I'm running it off a mini pc so resources are everythingEnglish1·19 hours agoCheck the log then, it’ll tell you the speed. 1x speed is exactly realtime. 0.5x is unable to keep up, and playing at half speed. 2.0x is streaming at double playback speed.
Do any videos play well? What’s the difference between those and others?
You’d probably want to use something that can do verification and correction. I’m sure that software exists.
Personally, I’d sell them and buy something more suitable.
frongt@lemmy.zipto science@lemmy.world•Just Touching the World’s Most Dangerous Tree Could Send You to the HospitalEnglish3·1 day agoWell, it’s the sap that’s harmful. I don’t think touching the bark a little will hurt. You should be able to pass through a stand of trees without issue.
You could also plant poison ivy on the ground, but even just pants and shoes would be enough to walk through. You could plant thorny bushes, but anyone with clippers could easily make a hole that would go unnoticed for a while. The border is long. (And I doubt most of these plants would thrive there anyway.)

If you run Windows, you already have a root certificate installed on your computer from the government of Saudi Arabia (sha1 fingerprint 8351509B7DF8CFE87BAE62AEB9B03A52F4E62C79).
The purposes don’t include code signing, so they probably can’t use it directly for malware. But it includes server identification, so they could possibly intercept your traffic and resume https with their own cert (which hopefully your browser would flag, but isn’t guaranteed). That would allow them to serve malware.
An easy way to get access to your traffic is bgp hijacking: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BGP_hijacking

Proxmox. Then an Arch VM to fuck around with and break.

It could be orbiting outside for that time.
frongt@lemmy.zipto Space@mander.xyz•Astronomers Watched a Black Hole Unexpectedly Flip Its Magnetic Field, Challenging Theoretical Models3·2 days agoIf it did, it didn’t cross the event horizon. It was stretched out and spun around faster and faster until it escaped, like a really long gravity slingshot.
It does the full imaging process, not just pxe booting, but I’m sure you can use it just for that.

But they certainly can take it without unplugging it, if they really want to. For example: https://cdsg.com/products/hotplug-field-kit

So, more limited utility. Still neat though.
