Domain names have little to do with privacy, and also wise to mentally separate the domain name from your website. If you’re looking host a website and not deal with the US, it’s probably more important to focus on who your domain registrar is and who your web host is (and what countries both are based in). The TLD you pick is almost irrelevant.

If any employer did want to go all in on stupid like that, people would still be able to do the following:
- don’t contribute money to it (I certainly wouldn’t - I’d pay out to another account under my control)
- roll over / transfer any funds that are already in there into an account of your own control
- look for another job (big red flag for an employer, if you ask me)
USian here - been wondering that about credit reporting bureaus and data brokers for a loooooooong time now.
