Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you have a "catchphrase"? if so, what is it?English
7·4 months ago“I’m bouta split” is one i once said at a pub with my friends out of the blue. They found it hilarious and so i still say it occasionally when it feels right. Sometimes they steal it from me too.
Ooh just in time! I nearly missed this!
Congrats on second year!
Thank you for the work you have done and I am very happy to be on this instance! I could not ask for a better admin

Boost for Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is Boost for reddit finally dead?English
5·8 months agoOk, so not just me. Damn. I use it a lot daily and I hate the official Reddit app and site.
It was thanks to boost i learned about Lemmy too
I keep one on my devices at most times anyway so that is no problem. I have no intention of leaving. Not for a while anyway
Ah crap. Im from the uk. This sucks. But i get its not your fault.
I only access this from Boost For Lemmy app but i suspect it will still fail to load data regardless.
I wonder would a vpn work? In theory it should.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Flohmarkt - a Fediverse replacement for Facebook MarketplaceEnglish
16·9 months agoThis is what i need so i can finally delete facebook but unfortunately this is too early and small with nothing piblically uk based and no one looking at it so things would never sell.
Thank you for the work you do maintaining this server! And for keeping us updated!

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How private is the Presearch search engine?English
6·10 months agoI tried Searxng but it just wasnt giving good results at all. And lacked far too many features of a modern search engine imo.
The thing is you kinda have to trust the word of all companies with how they collect your data and how they monetise themselves. I still think startpage is one of the best alternatives for privacy. Also my adblockers seem to work fine on startpage’s ad links so i dont see them.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•How private is the Presearch search engine?English
91·10 months agoHave you considered StartPage ?
It returns google results whilst stripping of all google tracking and does not track itself either.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Proton CEO embraces Trump for "standing up for the little guys"English
5·10 months agoI was considering tutanota but it felt too small and lacking some features that proton seemed better for. I may look at it again.
I cannot move from simple login though. I bought a lifetime plan which also includes proton pass and i use simple login extensively now.
I do use a custom domain but not for most things which i use simple login domains. My custom domain uses my full name and i dont want that associated with some random newsletter or game company etc. But important services are on my custom domain so not the end of the world and can change them all. I dont know who could replace simple login though.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Proton CEO embraces Trump for "standing up for the little guys"English
35·10 months agoFfs. I just switched a ton of stuff over to proton. Hopefully this is an individuals view and not that of the company as a whole.

Labour was voted in as the best way to get the tories out. Not because people actually wanted labour. Strategic voting, it was referred as.
Labour have just continued the tories policies though including their very controversial online safety act, digital id and asylum hotels, among many other controversial policies.
I would vote them again though if it means keeping reform out but honestly I cant agree with or take seriously any of the available parties. All are absolutely terrible, useless, liars, and cannot back up their claims or have a reasonable way of funding them without screwing something else majorly and causing backlash.
