>> “… this deal could have been done a long time ago. Hamas agreed to all the same terms in September 2024, as outlined in the ‘Three Weeks Deal’ that I had received in both written and voice messages, in Arabic and English,” Gershon Baskin wrote in The Times of Israel.

>> Earlier this year, Michael Herzog, who served as the Israeli ambassador to the US during the Biden administration, said that Biden never put pressure on Israel to reach a ceasefire in Gaza…

In that case we need to thank Trump for forcing Israel to this important first step.

I think you are overlooking all the global protests that happened. Italian workers shut down docks, australia also had massive rallies, global sumud flotilla and greta thunberg, all of it made it impossible for major powers, including but not limited to trump, to continue this war.

I think the end goals of the administrations need to be taken into consideration. Trump has openly talked about turning Gaza into a resort destination (with a big hotel with his name on it I’m sure).

Because of this, I’m extremely skeptical of any kind of peace he negotiates there.
